Senior Art Students Featured at Hallie Ford Museum of Art
SALEM, Ore. — A new exhibition features the work of eleven senior art students at Willamette University and will open on April 18 and continue through May 17 in the Melvin Henderson-Rubio Gallery at Willamette University’s Hallie Ford Museum of Art. The exhibition is presented every spring to honor and acknowledge the work of senior art majors. Characterized by a wide variety of styles and approaches, the exhibition represents the culmination of their four years at Willamette and includes work in a variety of media including an art installation, drawings, sculpture, photography and cut paper.
This year’s senior art students include Hailey Arnold, photography (Glencoe, Illinois); Michaelanne Foster, painting (Spokane, Washington); Alyssa Kirstein, sculpture (Medical Lake, Washington); Kassie McKay, drawing (Salem, Oregon); Katlyn Murphy, painting (San Francisco, California); Brita Ness, painting (Winthrop, Washington); Erin Petersen, mixed media (Glenview, Illinois); Marcela Ramirez, painting (Hillsboro, Oregon); Sara Reily Schultz, painting (Placerville, California); Ryley Skelton, painting (Salem, Oregon); and Jake Waldner, photography (Mt. Vernon, Oregon).
Student-led Gallery Talks
Students will discuss their work in three Tuesday Gallery Talks that are free and open to the public. The first talk will take place on April 21 at 12:30 with with Jake Waldner, Ryley Skelton and Brita Ness, Sara Reily Schultz. The second talk will be held April 28 at 12:30 with with Katlyn Murphy, Marcela Ramirez and Kassie McKay. The final talk will be held May 5 at 12:30 with Hailey Arnold, Michaelanne Foster, Alyssa Kirstein and Erin Petersen.

Financial support for this exhibition has been provided by general operating support grants from the City of Salem’s Transient Occupancy Tax funds and the Oregon Arts Commission.
