Due to COVID-19 exhibition dates may change. Please check back for updates.
This small exhibition of four artworks from the permanent collection of the Hallie Ford Museum of Art is on view at the Willamette University Mark O. Hatfield Library. The small exhibition includes work by Oregon artists who all created art through the New Deal Federal Art Projects of the 1930s and accompanies the Forgotten Stories: Northwest Public Art in the 1930s exhibition at the Hallie Ford Museum of Art.
The artworks on view include a preliminary drawing (seen above) by Andrew Vincent for the mural he created in the old Salem Post Office, now the Oregon Executive Building; a WPA commissioned painting by Charles Heaney; and works by Albert and Arthur Runquist, brothers who are well-known for their paintings celebrating the working class. There are also selected books about American art and life in the 1930s from the Mark O. Hatfield Library available alongside the exhibition.
